Appliance & Power Tool Inspection
Inspections and checks of electrical appliances and hand-held power tools in service
We inspect and test electrical appliances and hand-held power tools in service — from workshop drills and grinders to office appliances and extension leads. Every item tested is labelled, and you receive an inventory list together with the inspection report to present during a regulatory check. Intervals depend on the type of equipment and how intensively it is used — for power tools, for example, on annual operating hours. We're happy to help you classify your equipment correctly.
Note on the changing standard
Inspections of appliances and hand-held power tools were previously governed by STN 33 1610 (appliances) and STN 33 1600 (power tools). These have been superseded by the new STN 33 1630:2025, though the original standards may be used in parallel until 1 May 2027. We take the current state of standardisation into account, so you won't receive a report based on a superseded standard.
